His Highness Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Deputy Prime Minister, inaugurated on behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister on Tuesday morning, 7 March 2017, the 20th Middle East Oil and Gas Conference MEOS 2017 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre under the theme "Promotion of the Industry Through Operational Innovation and Excellence".

 

His Highness Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Deputy Prime Minister, expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to His Royal Highness the Prime Minister for his auspicious sponsorship of the conference and twin exhibition as an incarnation of His Highness' keen and sincere desire to support the oil industry and provide all facilities in order to enable it to play its subscribed role which, in turn, will bolster and boost the national economy and serve the total development system that the Kingdom of Bahrain is now going in all sectors.

 

He reiterated the greetings of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister to those who took upon themselves the organization of the exhibition and its participants. He communicated to them His Royal Highness' wishes for success to contribute in the development of the oil and gas industries.

 

His Highness highlighted the undeniable fact that the oil industry sector does receive the great interest of the government headed by His Royal Highness the Prime Minister. "The government spares no effort in promoting the sector in order to enable it to keep pace with the most sophisticated international systems and maximize its revenues for the benefit of the national economy, while drawing attention to the sector as a key vehicle of the wheels of economic prosperity", His Highness said.

 

His Highness Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Deputy Prime Minister, toured the exhibits of the show, during which he reviewed the products which represent the state-of-the-art technologies in the oil and gas industry. His Highness commended the outstanding organization and lining up of the exhibition and the status it enjoys, which strengthened and amplified its ability to attract major international oil organizations to participate in it. 

 

His Highness further disclosed that investment in the oil and gas industry sector represents the most significant component for diversification of the investment and industrial base and opening of new horizons for the oil industry that maximizes the value added of its revenues, especially in the light of the savings, capabilities and wherewithal that the sector enjoys, thereby providing more employment opportunities for citizens. He further underscored the fact that notwithstanding the current challenges and fluctuations in the oil prices at the global level, yet investment in the oil industry sector is still promising and is enjoying relentless and increasing growth. His Highness drew attention to the keen desire of the Kingdom of Bahrain to promote the oil industry in a way that would to strengthen its national economy.

 

His Highness stated that the Kingdom of Bahrain has managed to achieve major success in the field of conference and exhibition industry thanks to its advanced infrastructure and the appropriate and amenable environment for promotion of this industry. All this has positive consequences on the economic movement in the country and whose benefits will rub on the remaining sectors of production and business.

 

His Highness Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Deputy Prime Minister, commended the efforts of all those tasked with the organization of the 20th Middle East Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition and hoped that the exhibition would offer an opportunity for exchanging expertise and success stories on all matters related to the development of the oil industry.
