
Minister's Speech
As part of the ongoing endeavours towards excellence and development of services and information provided by the National Oil & Gas Authority (NOGA), and in order to highlight the changes in the oil and gas sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain since the promulgation of Royal Decree No. 63 for the year 2005 with respect to the creation of the National Oil & Gas Authority, and Royal Decree No. 78 for the year 2005 with respect to the formation of the Board of Directors of NOGA and specification of its purposes and functions; Within the framework of the Bahrain Government's direction towards the introduction of the e-government;The National Oil & Gas Authority has inaugurated a private independent website with the aim of providing a better and more sophisticated service for the website visitors and to keep them abreast of new and updated developments of the oil and gas sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain. We are pleased to introduce this site to further meet the current and future requirements of NOGA, which requirements are inseparable of the overall reformation strategic plan being experienced by Bahrain under the wise leadership of His Majesty the King, His Highness the Prime Minister and His Highness the Crown Prince. Such plan has become an international focus point reflecting Bahrain's achievements in all aspects of life. The introduction of this new site will provide the opportunity for interested visitors to view latest developments and future visions of Bahrain's oil and gas sector. It will certainly have a positive impact on Bahrain's reputation and regional and international economic position. The site has been designed not only as an informative website, but also as a formal source for latest news and activities of the Kingdom's oil and gas sector. The site data will be subject to regular updating and will also serve as a window to view the recent publications of NOGA. With the short period of operation, NOGA has been able to make several accomplishments and to implement many programmes, and is currently in the process of complementing legislations, structuring reorganization and introducing administrative, financial and technical ministerial orders. Such orders will assist NOGA to further enhance this vital sector which forms the main stream of the national economy. Finally, I would like to commend the faithful efforts by the NOGA team which has been responsible for this site. I take this opportunity also to thank all members of NOGA for their co-operation and support provided to the site task force.
